Cannon Beach 2011

We spent the past week at one of my favorite places on earth.  When we were kids, almost every summer from the time I was 5 and Bryan was 3  (and Rachel was still playing with the angels) through early high school, we came to Cannon Beach to spend a week at Cannon Beach Conference Center.  It is a really nice family camp where a delicious breakfast and dinner are provided daily, an excellent speaker teaches on a subject in Christianity, and the kids have a program to attend. From the late morning until dinner, you have free time to spend at the beach and explore the surrounding area. Some other perks are FREE babysitting in the evenings, and one night the kids eat in their classrooms while the adults enjoy a dinner by candlelight.  It was busy, refreshing and fun.

This year, my parents generously took all 10 of us to Cannon Beach and we had such a wonderful time together.  We hung out at the beach, ate great food, spent time together, and just enjoyed life.  My parents graciously offered to stay with kids while they napped a few of the afternoons, so we weren't always bound to the room during nap time.  It was lovely.
It was a long drive, but the kids did great.  Jack's foot position cracks me up. :)

The kids L-O-V-E-D the beach.  I enjoyed reliving the wonder of the beach through their eyes.

Since I have so many pictures, I'm going to do multiple blog posts over the next few days, mostly for my own organizational purposes.  Hope you enjoy!

Kim, I love all your Cannon Beach photos! Makes me nostalgic for the year I got to come along with you guys. And your family photo is amazing! You all look so good. That Haylee is turning into such a doll. I'm so glad you're getting these opportunities to spend time with your extended family and make memories. A real gift.
