More Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

The next member of the LaVine family is a girl!  We had our ultrasound on Friday, and she looks healthy and is quite the MOVER!  I wish we had pictures, but we were only given the snapshots, and a DVD with only the 45 minute video of the ultrasound.

Jack was slightly disappointed not to be having a brother (whom he was going to name "Steve"), but has warmed up to the fact that having a sister could be a good thing.  We shared with him, for instance, that a little sister may entertain Haylee more, keep her out of his Legos...  Hmmm.  We can dream. Also, being the only boy means doing lots of manly things one-on-one with Chad.  So, now he's excited and has decided her name should be Maggie.

Haylee says she's excited, but we're not sure she realizes what's coming down the pike for her... ;)

Chad's a bit nervous about the estrogen level in the house, especially once Jack graduates, but is excited about another little girl in the family.

And I'm just excited the balance of power will now tip towards the women.  No, really, I'm excited to have two little girls.  I love having a sister and doing girlie things with my mom and sister.  It's also fun to think of Jack being the oldest and only boy.  I think it'll be a great role for him.  A boy and two girls; we feel very blessed!
