Yes, we still have boxes around. We've unpacked most of the top floor, except for anything that hangs on the wall. That's always the last step for me as it takes me a while to figure out what I really want to have in certain places. I've decided to show a few before and during pictures of our house. If I wait until everything is completely unpacked, cleaned and organized, well, who knows when I'd be able to post. So, even though not everything is where it will be permanently, you can still get a sense of how things are shaping up thus far. It's slow going...whoever would decide to move while 8 months pregnant, and while raising two active kids? Someone insane, obviously! :) But, it's coming along--I just have to remind myself to take it one task at a time while everything else is undone around me by two little munchkins.
The living room before with the blue carpet, metal railing and pinkish walls.
This is the only good pic I've taken so far. When the whole room is clean, I'll take another. Chad finished the wall which not only looks better than a railing, but it also much more functional.
This is the dining room before. I really like the way the kitchen opens up into the dining room. The kids can sit at the table and play with playdough while I make dinner. Oh, and I love cooking with a gas stove! I've never cooked with gas before, but it cooks everything so evenly.
This is the during picture of the dining room. We've painted and added furniture. We still need to get pictures on the wall and just fine-tune things quite a bit.
The before picture of the kitchen. I like the layout, but miss the cupboard space I used to have in our old kitchen. But, we're getting creative with where things are stashed, and I love the view out the window.
"During" picture. I still need to figure out how to organize the appliances, items on the counter, etc. It looks cluttery at the moment, which bothers me. But, it'll get done, in good time. I do love the wall color. I was a little hesitant to go with such a bold color (my dear friend who also happens to be an interior designer, Anne suggested it), but I'm so happy we decided to go for it. It's a great look.
The Dining room view into the kitchen before picture. Notice the cupboards under the bar, making it basically unusable. Chad ripped those out and you'll notice the beautiful orange carpet that they didn't bother to replace when they redid the floors. I'm just excited to get some bar stools in for more seating.
I'll post more pictures as we go. This is all I could manage to take pictures of today. I'm being induced one month from today, so we need to keep pluggin' away because we all know that once this baby girl is born, time for projects will diminish greatly. :)
